Empty Bowls

THE PROJECT

Empty Bowls is an international project to fight hunger.  The Imagine/RENDER group was the parent organization to this project but it has since spread independently to communities all over the US and Canada.  This project has helped communities raise millions of dollars to aid in the fight against hunger.

Not only is the focus of the project to raise money to help feed those in our community, it is also to raise awareness of the issues of hunger in both our community and the world.

Empty Bowls allows “artists” - in our case, student artists from Snoqualmie Middle School, Twin Falls Middle School, Chief Kanim Middle School, and Mount Si High School create a bowl which will then be donated to the cause.

Community members will buy tickets to a dinner event where they will be able to choose and take home a bowl created by our student artists.  They will also receive a dinner of soup and bread that will be donated by local restaurants.

There will be musical entertainment from a Mount Si High School band ensemble.

100% of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank and the Fall City Food Pantry.  Mount Si Cheer has volunteered to spearhead the revival of this event, along with support from Mount Si Culinary Arts, and we are excited to a part of bringing back this wonderful event that benefits our community.
